5 hours after adding water the flys started to come. It traps them and the ones flying around stay around the trap because of the smell. I keep it 20 feet away from my back door and it has greatly reduced the amount of flys flying in our open door during the summer.
Been using this brand for a couple years, decided to try a cheaper one that's shown in the picture. Cheaper one has been hanging 2 weeks, the Fly Trap one for 3 days.

I am a repeat buyer. I've bought dozens of these traps over the past year, and will be buying dozens more. (We live in the city and the surrounding apartments have dumpsters that breed flies by the thousand.)
We live in the country surrounded by farms and horse stables . Last year we were constantly harassed when we went outside by black flies and biting horse flies they oftentimes made their way into the house and would just drive us crazy.
These traps are excellent. They definitely help reduce the fly population outdoors. They last a long time and are easy to pull down and discard. However, they do smell pretty bad after a while, but how else can you catch those pests.
I gotta tell you, these actually work extremely well. Hung one up two days ago and it’s attracting most, if not all, of the flies.
